Our Class Blog

We are a year 3 and 4 class at Waipahihi School in Taupo, New Zealand. Our teacher is Mrs Griffin. Our Class Blog is a way in which we can share our learning journey with our whanau, families and friends as well as the whole wide world. So...become our friend and follow our journey.

The kitten has a home!!!

After lots of talking, the children had to choose the best home for the kitten.
It was for either:
- Rory, Emma's Mum's friend
- Mrs Griffin.

They were very concerned about the kitten having someone at home to care for her and play with her.
The children chose....    MRS GRIFFIN

Food for the SPCA

We ask all the children and families at our school to help us collect pet food for the SPCA. We presented the food, some posters and a mural to Ed today. Ed was amazed with our effort!!
Well done everyone!!!!!!!

Home for the kitten

No one has called about the kitten so now we need to find her a safe happy home.
We have discussed this in class and have three ideas:
1. someone in the class takes her
2. Emma's Mum's friend takes her
3. Mrs Griffin takes her

What should we do????
What do you think????
Please leave us a comment about our ideas for the kitten.

SPCA

Since the SPCA helped us with the kitten, we decided to visit the SPCA to see what they do there.

Lost Posters

We put up the Found Posters last week but have had NO calls asking about the kitten.
What do you think we should do now? Please leave a comment and a suggestion.

Has the kitten got a home?

Ms Malcolm has agreed to let us look after the kitten while we find it a good, safe home.

We thought someone might have taken the kitten and put it in the bag and left it on the side of the road. So we decided to make "FOUND POSTERS" to see if the kitten actually had a home before. We will put the posters up around the streets near our school this week.

The Kitten

Mrs Griffin found a sick kitten (yes she is a kitten even though she looks quite big in the photo). She was in a bag on the side of the road on Tuesday after school. Mrs Griffin doesn’t know what to do with it. Before we can decide anything we have to ask Ms Malcolm if we can keep it in the class.

What pets do we have?

Have you added a message to the our Pet Wallwisher yet?

Now I want you to bring a photo of your pet to class on Monday. I will take a photocopy of the photo so you can take it home with you.

If you don't have a pet you could bring a picture of a pet you would like to have.

Does anyone know if their e-Pal has a pet?

I have missed you all and I can't wait to see you on Monday!!!

Pets

Meet Scooter my beautiful cat. He's about 8 years old. Apart from being lazy and sleeping all the time Scooter likes chasing insects around the backyard.
Tell me about your pet. Click on Pets Wallwisher and tell us about your pet. Remember I have to approve all notes on the wall before they are published.  Pets Wallwisher

We are very excited about our new learning journey to explore new worlds, to seek out new life, to boldly go where no man has gone before...  opps  ...Mrs Griffin is dreaming about sci fi movies again - Star Trek this time!

Greetings to our new friends, we invite you to follow our learning journey through our blog. Please leave us comments...we love reading them!

Lizzie's Ukulele Performance

Lizzie is learning the ukulele. She entertained us with her first ukulele performance.

Hall Sleepover

We had an awesome sleepover in our school hall on Friday night. We started with a family BBQ, thank goodness the weather stayed warm and fine. We played T-Ball and ran around with 'Griffin'...not Mrs Griffin...but Lynley's dog Griffin. We are going to write some stories about the sleepover so stayed tuned... we will post them as soon as we can.

Even Rossi, our class cockatiel, came to the sleepover!
